Posted on June 28th, 2007 No comments
Micromart a console repair company in the UK have recently announced via their website that they are no longer repairing Xbox 360s’ that have the Ring of Death, the influx of machines was so great that they couldn’t keep up with the load, and have now stated that it is endemic (to save you looking it up it’s “characteristic of”, or “prevalent in”) the 360. Free repairs for all?
Posted on June 13th, 2007 1 commentMicrosoft have pretty much opened themselves to litigation by anyone who wants to make themselves a name or a few pennies by installing a new heatsink in xbox 360s, at the moment the new dual layout has only been witnessed in consoles that have have seen the rings of death and have then been returned to Microsoft for repair.
We’ll be keeping our eyes open for further news on these dual cooling systems, but if they become as widespread as we think they are going to be we wouldn’t be suprised if Microsoft is going to have to offer the repairs for free in the near future as by implimenting this new system they have pretty much admitted to a systemic fault within the construction of the unit (or simply put the machines weren’t fit for purpose when sold).

A cooler 360?
PGR4 is going to be killer in more ways than one. Despite the President of Microsoft’s Entertainment and Devices Division saying the 360 will be profitable next year, MS is going to find itself in a whole new world of finacial hurt in the next 6-12 months… Why? you may ask, the answer is simple and it came to me while looking at this article over on xbox360.qj.net (for those of you who can’t be bothered to look it’s the latest batch of PGR4 screens), why would those fine looking screenshots lead too Microsoft being in a larger financial quagmire than it already finds itself?

Oh we also like to see bloated pompus companies fall flat on their smug faces but that’s just a fringe benefit…look out Nintendo y o u a r e n e x t! mouhaha
THE BAD
Japanese Nikkei newspaper and other Japanese sources are saying the PS3 has sold 3 million units worldwide since it’s November ‘06 release, that seems ok because it’s lots of zeros unfortunately Sony has put 5-6 million(accounts vary) PS3’s into the worldwide sales channel*, that means the channel is SATURATED, Read the rest of this entry » -
